SRT SOLUTIONS PRESENTS SOFTWARE STIMULUS LAB TO SUPPORT ECONOMIC, BUSINESS GROWTH

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – May 18, 2009 – ANN ARBOR, MICH. –  SRT Solutions, leaders in software and software skills development, is hosting a Software Stimulus Lab at Automation Alley on June 15.  The SRT Solutions Software Stimulus Lab is a hands-on workshop that will cover effective software development techniques; attendees can choose to bring their own software problems to work on with experts or take advantage of examples provided by SRT Solutions.

“Software development is a critical component to Michigan's future economy,” said Dianne Marsh, co-founder, SRT Solutions.  “Health care, advanced manufacturing, green energy, and homeland security all rely on software advancements, yet many talented IT and software professionals are out of work, and training budgets are being cut.  The SRT Solutions Software Stimulus Lab is a low cost opportunity for software developers to learn new technologies.”

The SRT Solutions Software Stimulus Lab will offer developers the opportunity to learn new techniques, new languages, including C#, Java, Python, Scala, GWT, Silverlight, or new toolkits alongside experts who will provide hands-on guidance.  Attendees can take full advantage of SRT Solutions’ deep expertise to learn new techniques and solutions to specific problems.

The SRT Solutions Software Stimulus Lab is broken into two distinct sessions:

•    9 a.m. – noon, will offer an introduction to effective software engineering techniques, such as version control, continuous integration, and automated testing.  The morning session will start with a brief overview and then progress into hand’s-on work, including a network set up with tools for attendees to use.

•    1:30 – 4:30 p.m., will focus on topics of interest to attendees as well as continued opportunities to work through specific software challenges with on-site experts.

The cost to attend the SRT Solutions Software Stimulus Lab is $50 (by June 8) and $75 regular rate.  Registration is required, and seats are limited.   A limited number of scholarships are available for unemployed software developers. Registration and scholarship information is available at www.srtsolutions.com.
