Online Column Q & A followup
I mistakenly created just a US version of the sample

Question:

G'day Bill,

The answer you gave to this question may have been fine for a program or web page to be consumed only in the USA, but not for the rest of the world. The US is the only country to use a month - day - year numerical format. The rest of us use day - month - year.

Cheers

Answer:

Tony,

You are correct. I did not cover any form of internationalization. Quite simply, that was a space issue. There is only so much space that can be devoted to a Q & A column. The thesis of the column was that you can use Regular Expressions for complicated processing. The date question, regardless of MMDDYY, or DDMMYY, certainly shows that.

Thanks for reading.

Regular expressions are powerful, you can do almost anything.
